The answering service for Canadian electricians
You are up a ladder with both hands full and the phone is somebody whose kitchen circuit has just tripped for the third time. EveryRing answers, takes the details, books the work, and reaches you when it is the kind of call that cannot wait.
The calls you are missing
Electrical calls come in two shapes and the phone cannot tell them apart. Half of them are work you would happily book for next Tuesday. The other half are somebody frightened: a burning smell, a panel making a noise, half a house dark with a baby in it.
Both go to voicemail when you are on a job, and both go to the next electrician on the list about forty seconds later. The frightened ones do not leave messages at all.
What it does on one of your calls
It answers as your company and says the call is recorded when you have recording on.
- It takes the details before the problem. Name, number, address. The address is checked against the area you cover before any time is offered, so nobody is booked for a job in a town you do not serve.
- It reads the address back digit by digit, which is how a street number stops being misheard on a bad line.
- An emergency reaches you, screened. It rings your mobile, says who is holding and what they have described, and connects them only when you press 1. If it reaches voicemail it hangs up instead of leaving the details on a machine.
- Ordinary work gets booked onto whichever of your electricians is genuinely free, for the length that kind of job takes, with travel time between sites accounted for.
- A missed call is texted back within seconds, and many people would rather carry on by message anyway.
What it will not do
It will never tell a caller whether something is safe. Not whether they should switch the breaker back on, not whether a smell matters, not whether it can wait until Monday. This is the one place where a confident wrong answer from a machine could hurt somebody, and the assistant is built to take the description, get it to you, and say plainly that a qualified person will advise.
It gives no view on code or permits. Whether work needs an inspection, what an authority requires, whether an existing installation complies: all of it depends on the jurisdiction and on seeing the job, and none of it is something to answer on a phone call.
It will not price work you have not published. No invented callout fee, no guessed hourly rate. It offers a callback and writes it down.
It answers in English. It sends no marketing messages of any kind, to anybody, because there is no feature in the product that could: the only texts that leave are replies, confirmations and reminders for work somebody asked for. And there is no way to export your customer list, ours or anyone's. Neither is a policy we wrote down; both are things the software cannot do.
Against a human answering service
| What is being compared | A human answering service | EveryRing |
|---|---|---|
| Published rate, Canada | Commonly sold by the minute, with a setup fee | $199 to $399 a month, plus a one-time setup fee |
| At 2am | If you bought the after-hours plan | Always, at no different rate |
| What happens to the call | A message you ring back | The job booked, in your calendar, on a van that is free |
| What it knows | A script you wrote for them | The profile you published, and it refuses to guess past it |
| Your number | Often theirs, forwarded | Stays yours |
Rates for human services vary by provider and by how many minutes you buy. Compare the ones you are considering on their own published prices: ours are on the pricing page and do not change by time of day.
Questions electricians ask
What does it do with a call that sounds dangerous?
It treats it as an emergency by the rules you set, rings you, and tells you what was described before connecting anybody. It does not advise the caller, and it does not decide for itself what is or is not dangerous.
Will it book the right person when we are a team?
Yes. Work is booked against a named electrician rather than against the company, so two jobs cannot be promised to the same person at the same hour. Asking for a particular person by name is not something it can do yet.
Does it know our rates?
Only the ones you publish in your profile. Anything you have not published becomes a callback rather than a guess.
Can it send the customer a confirmation?
Yes, by email with a calendar file attached, when the customer asks for one.
What does it cost?
From $199 a month plus a one-time setup fee, and no long contract. The pricing page has the detail.
Can I listen to it first?
Yes. We set it up with your details and you ring it yourself before you decide.
Hear it before you decide
The quickest way to judge this is to listen to it answer as if it were your business. We will set it up with your hours and your services and ring you.
